INVESTIGATIONS
Investigations is the unit of the department which asssists with extensive investigations, administrative tasks, and support for patrol officers. A detective in the investigations unit also coordinates and investigates Crime Stoppers tips. There is currently one Detective assigned to investigations.
The detective assigned to the Investigations unit normally work 8 hour shifts, Monday through Friday. The Detective is subject to call 24 hrs. a day to assist should the patrol officers need additional support or more extensive investigation on any crime. In addition, the Detective is responsible for narcotics investigations, Evidence Room Control, and other administrative duties.
The Detective assists with investigations of criminal offenses which are initiated by both patrol officers and Investigations. The Investigations Unit assists with obtaining and serving search warrants within the City.
