EMPLOYMENT APPLICATIONS
Employment Qualifications
Age:
Applicant must be at least 21 years of age and under the age of 60 for Officer positions. (An applicant over the age of 60 will be considered if special qualifications exhibited are adaptable to police work.)
Education:
Applicant must have a high school diploma or GED.
Residence:
Applicants must be citizens of the United States and a legal resident of Kansas.
Character:
An applicants character must be above reproach. His or Her records are checked both locally and with the F.B.I. before appointment. The applicant must have never been convicted of a criminal offense and must have a good driving record. (Minor traffic violations do not apply.)
Health:
Good physical condition is a must. An applicant may be required to complete a physical examination certifying him or herself as physically capable of performing required duties.
Appearance:
Applicants must be clean cut, alert, and have the ability to wear a uniform in an approved manner.
Licenses:
Applicants must have a valid Kansas drivers license. If you have previously been in the armed forces you will be required to furnish proof of an honorable discharge and a copy of your service record.

This application applies to all positions within the Wamego Police Department. Please specify which position(s) you are applying for on the form and if you have a prior military background you are required to furnish proof of an honorable discharge and a copy of your service record.
